Ahead of Halloween 2023, I was approached by Brandnation, to help create a piece of content which showcased the Columbia’s new Omni Heat Infinity insulated jacket collection.

Having seen the content I created for Wiggle around the most remote pub on mainland Britain, they want to create something similar, but with a Halloween inspired twist.

Initially they wanted to send me to a private bothy in Scotland to spend a night alone.

However, as the bothy didn’t have a haunted history, or wasn’t overly remote, I suggested instead I go and stay at one of Scotland’s most remote and haunted bothies.

Riddled with horror stories and several accounts of strange goings on, Ben Alder Cottage is a forsaken homestead with a dark history, it is unsettlingly remote, eerily quiet, and unnervingly exposed.

On very short notice I scripted up some content ideas before driving 11 hours and 500 miles up to Scotland. I spent three nights in the Scottish Highlands, one of which was in the bothy which involved a 30km round trip, before driving 500 miles back home.

I created content across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube as well as securing earned media across national and specialist titles.
